Ramadan is a time of reflection, kindness, and giving. As we break our fasts and thank Allah for His blessings, thousands of people with special needs in remote Gujarat are struggling for even the most basic necessities. But one man has dedicated his life to changing this reality.
Meet Yusufi Kapadia – A Beacon Of Hope For The Visually Challenged
More than 20 years ago, Yusufi Kapadia, a visually-impaired man himself, saw the struggles of people with special needs in the impoverished tribal areas of Dahod-Panchmahal. These families lived in extreme poverty—lacking food, education, and opportunities. Many were rejected by society, forced to live in isolation.
Abbas knew that they didn’t need pity—they needed empowerment. He believed that with the right support, visually-impaired individuals could lead dignified and independent lives. In August 2000, he founded Blind Welfare Council (BWC) along with 10 other trustees, most of whom were also visually impaired.
With sheer determination and faith, Kapadia and his team have worked relentlessly to uplift visually-impaired people—giving them education, vocational training, nutritious food, and hope for a better future. Today, BWC supports people with visual impairment, hearing impairment, loco-motor impairments, and intellectual impairments—helping them become self-sufficient and part of mainstream society.
This Ramadan, Extend Your Hand in Charity and Make a Difference
In Islam, we are taught that helping those in need is one of the greatest acts of worship. As we seek blessings during this holy month, let’s remember the people who are often forgotten—those who cannot see, hear, or walk but still dream of a dignified life.
Your donation can bring light into their darkness. With your support, BWC can provide:
- Groceries for underprivileged families struggling to feed their children
- Education materials for visually impaired children to learn and grow
- Skill training so they can earn a livelihood with dignity
This Ramadan, let’s be the reason someone finds hope. Give generously and help change a life.
Donate today. Even a small contribution can make a big impact.
